"We Are Happy was a beautiful illustration of the special bond that siblings have, especially the special companionship for twins! I absolutely loved it!"

Getting children excited about reading...

I get them excited in two ways...

I tell them stories.

I prompt them by saying: "Give me two words and I'll give you a story." You can imagine some of the words I've gotten. One night, my granddaugher gave me dinosaur & cookie. I told a crazy story about a dinosaur cook! I call this Spontaneous Fiction.

I read them books.

We usually sit on the sofa and read. I might do each character in a different voice. I always ask them questions about what I'm reading. Sometimes we'll act out the book and even change the ending just to see how it feels telling the story our way.

But...what really matters?

We are spending quiet, quality time together: creating memories and nurturing a life-long love for reading and storytelling.
